Wynne Tong, RMT
Wynne is a registered massage therapist with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Cell Biology. Wynne treats a wide variety of conditions using a number of techniques such as Swedish, deep tissue therapy, joint mobility, myofascial release. Her approach is to develop individualized treatment plans while taking into consideration of other compensating structures in the body, hoping to help facilitate the body’s ability to recover from the condition and/or to restore the body’s optimal level of performance. On her off time, Wynne stays active doing yoga and enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and walking on the beach. Wynne is a 100% softball and volleyball mom as well as cheerleader.
In addition to English, Wynne is also fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.
Kevin Wu, RMT
Kevin Wu attended the Vancouver School of Bodywork and Massage and received his Spa Practitioner diploma. In his personal time he is an avid athlete, participating in a variety of sports year round. Kevin can speak conversational Mandarin.
Emily Liang, RMT
Emily graduated from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in 2020. Before she became a registered massage therapist, she was already involved in the healthcare field by working as a ophthalmic technician and cataract surgery coordinator at various clinics for over 6 years. Throughout this time at the ophthalmic clinics, Emily can see that patients and their caretakers are also suffering from pain of a different sort. She hopes to focus on relaxation treatments to offer relief from both physical and mental stress. By providing a relaxation treatment using various Swedish massage techniques, myofascial release, myofascial trigger point techniques, and joint mobilization, patients can be better off than when they first walked in. Being in such a diverse city as Vancouver, Emily is proud that she can connect fluently with her patients by not only English but Cantonese and Mandarin as well.
Why Massage Therapy?
It can help with
Muscle Soreness
Massage can help to improve circulation and clear metabolic waste products to aid with recovery.
Stress
Decreases stimulation of your sympathetic nervous system (fight-or-flight response) that's often responsible for a high alert and anxiety state.
Pregnancy
We offer a pregnancy pillow that supports the belly so patients can lie face down for treatment.
Overuse Injuries
Whether it's from work or sport, using the same muscle groups repetitively over a period of time can cause imbalances and compensations in other parts of the body.
Posture
Massage helps to bring self awareness to your body, especially if you find yourself in similar positions throughout the day.
Whiplash
The structures of the neck often become strained, resulting in a protective muscle spasm. Massage can help relieve pain and restore range of motion.
